The Million Dollar Highway

What a day!

We left Glenwood Springs at 5 o’clock this morning. We started today’s trip under the stars in the chilly, mountain air.

After a while we left the interstate and turned south. We rode through Grand Mesa national park, which is a beautiful place in the Rocky Mountains.

After we left behind Grand Mesa we headed to Ouray. Nice little town up in the Rockies, as known as “Switzerland of America”. Important thing the elevation constantly changes, we rode higher and higher until we reached 10.500 feet.

Through the Million Dollar Highway we arrived to Durango. What a ride, phew! Lots of curves, breathtaking scenery.

Via Durango we arrived to Cortez. We stay here for tonight.

Tomorrow is one of the highlights for me, we approach the famous Monument Valley! Stay tuned!

The numbers:
Fuel burned: 15-16 Dollars

Conclusion Mate:
Sunscreen is a good idea. Leaving motel at 5 o’clock is even better.
When parking, always leave space to take a proper turn. These bikes are heavy and turn like a mothership.

Conclusion Johnny:
Getting up real early is a bliss, today went better than planned.
