To the West, Dodge City
Today we had a tough one.
We continued our journey to the west and made short detours to Enterprise and Lindsborg. In Lindsborg locals have a strong Swedish heritage. Swedish texts and signs everywhere, in the restaurant you can have Swedish meals.
The heat is killing. After Lindsborg sunlight was burning, even the wind was scorching. Road is perfectly straight, no curves for miles. To be honest, there is nothing for dozens of miles. Really hard to stay awake on the bike like this. And on top of that, before arriving to Dodge City a truck started to pass by another truck. Suddenly it came into our lane with full speed ahead. We went around 70 miles and the truck came around 70-75. I’m not sure what the driver thought, maybe fell aslepp or just didn’t give a shit that we are there. It completely took our lane, we had to use the shoulder and throw a panic brake. Very-very scary moment.
In the evening we went to see western town main street in Dodge City. We saw a gunfight scene between the Sheriff and the bad cowboys. It was fun.
